NIA Releases CCTV Clips Of Attack On Indian HC In UK
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday released five videos related to violent protest by Khalistani elements on March 19 at the Indian High Commission in London.
It has sought the help of the general public in identifying individuals involved in the violent protests. The footage which is over two hours was released on the official website of the NIA.

"CCTV footage of the attack by anti-national elements on High Commission of India London, which happened on 19.03.2023 is uploaded above. All the members of the public are requested to provide any information regarding the persons seen in the footage to the NIA in the public interest. Information may be provided on Whatsapp No +91 7290009373. The identity of the informant shall be kept secret," a message from the NIA read.
In the protest that was held after the Punjab cops started the operation to arrest separatist leader Amritpal Singh, a pro-Khalistan protestor in London climbed the High Commission of India's balcony and pulled down the Indian flag.
Officials aware of the development told the PTI that it comes after a team of the NIA visited London to get details of the case besides interacting with officials of Scotland Yard.
The NIA had taken over the probe from the Special Cell of the Delhi Police which had registered a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act as it involves illegal activities carried out by certain people holding Indian nationality abroad.
The NIA took over the probe from the Delhi Police after the Ministry of Home Affairs had met with the UK Home Office representatives in April.
However, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had slammed the incident and said that it was the obligation of the receiving country to provide security for "a diplomat to do their work" and to ensure embassy or "high commissions' premises are respected." "We have had conversations with the British govt on this," he added.
"Many countries have a different view of their own security and a different view of other people's security. We'll not accept this differential status," S Jaishankar added.
