NIA refutes Pathankot cattle story

New Delhi, Jan 13: The National Investigating Agency has refuted the news that some persons were allowed to enter the Pathankot air base with their cattle if they paid Rs 50.

It was stated in some sections of the media that a probe by the NIA had revealed that illegal entry into the Pathankot air force station had been found.

The reports also stated that locals were allowed into the air force station with their cattle if they paid Rs 50. The reports quoted an NIA probe suggesting the illegal entry of such persons.

Further the reports also stated that the NIA was examining these details to find out if terrorists too had used the same modus operandi to enter into the air force station.

The National Investigation Agency strong denies the news appearing in certain sections of electronic media which have quoted NIA sources that "locals were allowed to enter the Pathankot Air base with their cattle if they paid Rs.50".

No such fact has been found in on-going investigation, a note by the agency stated.
