NIA Announces Rs 10 Lakh Cash Reward On Canada-Based Khalistani Terrorists

The announcement came amid a diplomatic row between India and Canada over the death of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

The agency further announced a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh each for information on their associates - Parminder Singh Kaira alias Pattu, Satnam Singh alias Satbir Singh alias Satta, and Yadvinder Singh alias Yadda.

A case registered by the NIA in connection with Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist activities includes the names of these five in the list of most wanted terrorists who aim to disturb peace and communal harmony in the country. The NIA had registered the case under sections 17, 18, 18B, 20, 38 & 39 of the UA (P) Act, 1967, said the NIA in a statement.

According to the NIA investigations, these terrorists have been hiring new members for BKI to promote terror activities by supporting them with monetary benefits. They have also established their network in different countries to increase terror activities in India.

The agency has released pictures of 43 members of Khalistani-terrorists. These terrorists are involved in murders and smuggling of drugs and weapons in Punjab. They also took part in anti-India acts in the UK, such as an attack at the Indian high commission in London on March 19 this year.

Meanwhile, the Indian government issued a travel advisory for its nationals and students in Canada in view of the growing anti-India activities in the country.

A statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) read, "In view of growing anti-India activities and politically-condoned hate crimes and criminal violence in Canada, all Indian nationals there and those contemplating travel are urged to exercise utmost caution."
