NHAI Hikes 5% Toll Prices; Check New Toll Rate List For National Highways
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced an average toll increase of 5 percent, starting Monday. Although the revised toll rates were supposed to come into effect on April 1, they were delayed due to the Lok Sabha elections.
According to a senior NHAI official, the new toll rates will now be implemented from June 3, 2024. This annual adjustment reflects changes in the wholesale price index (CPI)-based inflation, which influences the toll fees.

India's national highway network has about 855 toll plazas. Of these, around 675 are publicly funded, while the remaining 180 are run by private concessionaires. The toll hikes are part of an annual process conducted under the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008.
