    News Flash: Cauvery row: Karnataka Cabinet decides not to release water for now

    Sept 28: Bangladesh, Bhutan and Afghanistan have pulled out of SAARC Summit to be hosted in Pakistan in November. The countries have sighted their concern over recent escalation of terrorism in the region as their reason for pulling out.

All were of the opinion including the BJP and the the JD(S) that there is a resolution in the assembly to release water only for drinking purposes. Since there is a resolution in place and a meeting scheduled for tomorrow, it would be better to postpone the release of the water, it was stated at the all party meet.
