New footage shows Amritpal may have entered Delhi disguised as 'sadhu'

'Waris Punjab De' chief and Khalistan sympathiser Amritpal Singh, who continues to elude the cops, was seen wearing a jacket and trousers

The CCTV footage is from Punjab's Patiala, recorded on March 20. Amritpal was said to be hiding at a relative's house there.

The CCTV footage reveals that he left for Kurukshetra in Haryana from Amritsar, and was headed for the national capital. It is being reported that he allegedly disembarked at a bus terminal in the guise of a monk yesterday.

On the other hand, Joint operations are being made by teams of Delhi Police and Punjab police in Delhi and its borders' areas after receiving intelligence inputs about Amritpal seen at Delhi's ISBT bus terminal, they added.

CCTVs near Kashmiri Gate are being examined to find the fugitive pro-Khalistani leader. Intelligence inputs suggested that he may be disguised as a sadhu. Papalpreet Singh is accompanying Amritpal Singh, said sources.

An alert has also been issued in Dehradun, Haridwar, and Udhamsinghnagar districts of the Uttarakhand as a precaution in view of the possibility Amritpal entering the state.

Uttarakhand director general of police Ashok Kumar has said. "An alert has been issued in Dehradun, Haridwar, and Udhamsinghnagar districts of the state as a precaution in view of the possibility of pro-Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh entering the state," the DGP told ANI.

On the other hand, the Punjab Police have launched a massive search operation to nab Amritpal Singh. He has remained elusive for the past eight days and has used various modes of transport to escape. The manner in which in the law enforcement agencies in the state have handled the issue evoked a strong response from the Punjab High Court.

Authorities had last week suspended internet and SMS services in the State following the police crackdown against elements of 'Waris Punjab De' headed by Amritpal. Though many of his followers were nabbed, the radical Sikh preacher himself however gave the cops a slip and escaped their dragnet when his cavalcade was intercepted in Jalandhar district.
