Ram Charan's gift for South India: New airline TruJet's first flight takes off from Hyd to Tirupati
Hyderabad, July 13: Actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan has given a special gift to his motherland. TruJet, the first city-based regional low cost carrier began its operation on Sunday, July 13.
TruJet is a part of Turbo Megha Airways Pvt Ltd. The maiden flight of the airline took off from Hyderabad to Tirupati.

Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju inaugurated the first commercial flight of TruJet. The new airline is promoted by a group of investors including actor Ram Charan Teja, Prem Kumar and V Umesh and many others.
The minister attended the candle-lighting ceremony at the Shamshabad Airport, Hyderabad on Sunday morning and flagged off the first flight to Tirupati to mark official launch of Trujet flight services, an official statement said.
Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya and Telangana's Information Technology and Panchayat Raj Minister K T Rama Rao attended the function.
The airliner, which currently has a fleet of two ATR 72-500 aircraft leased from an Irish company, reportedly has plans to acquire more aircraft.
