NEET UG 2025: NTA Flags Over 1,500 Fake Paper Leak Claims, Warns of Strict Action
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has reported more than 1,500 dubious claims regarding an alleged paper leak for the upcoming NEET UG 2025 exam. According to a PTI report, the majority of these fraudulent leak reports are being shared via social media platforms, including 106 Telegram channels and 16 Instagram profiles that have all been identified to be promoting misinformation concerning the NEET-UG medical entrance exam.
The NEET UG test, which is scheduled for May 4, 2025, will be held at over 5,000 centres across 550 cities nationwide. On April 26, the NTA launched a specialised suspicious activity reporting page to prepare for this major national-level examination. Since its inception, this site has received over 1,500 contributions, with a large number emphasising bogus paper leak allegations, the majority of which originated on Telegram.

To ensure the integrity of the test process, the NTA has asked students and the general public to report the following three sorts of violations:
- Platforms falsely claiming access to the NEET UG 2025 question paper
- Individuals asserting possession of NEET UG exam content
- Impersonators posing as NTA or government officials
All such cases were referred to the Home Ministry's Cyber Crime Coordination Centre for further investigation. The NTA has restated its commitment to administering a fair and transparent exam, stating that those attempting to disrupt the process or mislead candidates with bogus claims will face severe legal consequences.
The NTA further recommends candidates to only use official communication channels and websites, such as nta.ac.in and neet.nta.nic.in, for NEET UG 2025 exam updates.
This year, NEET UG remains the most important medical entrance examination in India, with millions of applicants fighting for admission to MBBS and other undergraduate medical programs. As the exam date approaches, the NTA maintains attentive and aggressively works to prevent any attempt at misconduct.
