NDA Meeting Today: Who All Are Attending?

The much-anticipated day of June 4, the counting day for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, was marked by unexpected surprises. Despite the NDA coalition's impressive performance, securing over 290 seats and crossing the 270-seat majority mark, the Indian National Congress (Congress) remained hopeful. The party's hopes seemed to be fueled by its ability to seize upon the unexpected developments, as it appears to be doing everything in its power to capitalize on the situation.

The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders will meet at Prime Minister Modi's residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg today. The meeting is scheduled to take place at around 3:30 pm.

NDA Meeting Today Who All Are Attending

Following the revelation that the BJP was unable to form a government on its own, party leaders began discussing alternative options with other NDA allies. With the PM Modi-led BJP falling short of numbers in the Lok Sabha and needing the NDA allies to form the government at the Centre, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and TDP's N Chandrababu Naidu have emerged as the most important players on the chessboard.

According to reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the first to engage with Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu, while Home Minister Amit Shah initiated talks with key leaders in the Bihar-based Janata Dal (United) party, including Nitish Kumar, Chirag Paswan, and Jitan Ram Manjhi, via a telephone conversation.

According to reports, JD(U) leader and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde will attend the meeting where top leaders of the BJP and its other allies are also expected to be present.

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares to take office for a record-equalling third term, his party's allies are expected to join him for a meeting to discuss the details of the new government. The coalition, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has secured a comfortable majority in the Lok Sabha, but the BJP itself has fallen short of the 272-seat mark for the first time since 2014. As a result, it will rely heavily on its allies to form a government.

Several key parties will play a crucial role in shaping the new government, including the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), which won 16 seats; the Janata Dal (United), which won 12 seats; the Shiv Sena, led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, which won 7 seats; and the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), led by Chirag Paswan, which won 5 seats. The Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (United) and the BJP both won 12 seats in Bihar.
