NCP's Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana Posters Exclude 'Mukhyamantri' on Ajit Pawar's Birthday

The Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) recently put up posters to promote the Maharashtra government's Majhi Ladki Bahin scheme. This initiative provides monthly financial aid of Rs 1,500 to women from families earning less than Rs 2.5 lakh annually. However, the word "mukhyamantri" was missing from these posters.

NCP Excludes Mukhyamantri in Scheme Posters

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who also manages the finance portfolio in the Eknath Shinde government, announced the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana in his budget speech last month. The posters appeared during Pawar's tour of Parner, Ahmednagar, Shrigonda, and Karjat-Jamkhed assembly segments in Ahmednagar district on Monday, coinciding with his birthday celebrations.

During events held in these four locations, which were adorned with pink posters, Pawar addressed women about the scheme. Notably, the posters referred to it simply as Majhi Ladki Bahin, omitting "mukhyamantri." Interestingly, Pawar himself had previously referred to it as Ladki Bahin Yojana in a video message earlier this month.

NCP spokesperson and youth wing president Suraj Chavan clarified that there is no controversy surrounding the name. "There is no need to look for any controversy. The name of the scheme is Majhi Ladki Bahin and that is how it is mentioned on the banners. There is no politics nor any disrespect," he stated.

Clarification on Scheme Name

Earlier, Ajit Pawar assisted women in filling out forms for this scheme. He shared his thoughts at an event in Parner, saying, "My family told me to celebrate my birthday at home, but I insisted I should work more than usual on this day to improve the lives of my sisters. I am sure the budget presented last month will improve the living standards of people of Maharashtra."

The omission of "mukhyamantri" from the posters has raised questions but officials insist it was not intentional. The focus remains on providing financial assistance to women in need through this scheme.

The initiative aims to uplift women by offering them financial support, thereby enhancing their quality of life. The NCP continues to promote this scheme actively across various regions in Maharashtra.

Ajit Pawar's efforts and dedication towards improving women's lives are evident through his active participation in promoting this scheme and helping beneficiaries directly.
