NCP corporator loots ashram off Rs 1 lakh, manhandles woman

Thane, June 4: A CCTV footage at a Badlapur ashram revealed embarassing details about an NCP corporator and his aides. Ashish Damle was caught on camera while ransacking a local spiritual leader-Ratnakar Maharaj's ashram in Badlapur along with 20-25 goons and allegedly robbing Rs 1 lakh.

The incident allegedly took place in the night of June 2 at the Sadhna Bhuvan in Thane district. The corporator was further seen manhandling a woman as well. Ironically, the corporator was also accompanied by 2 security personnel.

However, according to ABPLive, the main aim of the corporator was to pick up the girl, with whom he was allegedly having an affair with.

It is said that when the ashram officials tried to stop Damle, he and his men started fighting with them.

A case of robbery has been registered against Damle, who is now absconding. API of Kulgaon Police Station P S Giri said,"A case under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint), 457 (lurking house-trespass) and 506 (criminal intimidation) and other relevant sections of IPC has been registered against him and his aides.

Meanwhile, the NCP has expelled Damle saying that nobody has the right to take the law in their hands.
