Nayab Saini's New Haryana Cabinet: Check Who Are THESE Four Women MLAs Vie For Positions
Following a record third consecutive victory in Haryana, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini's new BJP government, set to be sworn in on Thursday, is poised to include more women ministers than in previous cabinets.
During the decade-long BJP rule in Haryana, only one woman has held a ministerial position at any given time.

In the recent Assembly elections, the number of women MLAs increased from nine in 2019 to 13, with five hailing from the BJP. Independent MLA Savitri Jindal, elected from Hisar, has pledged her support to the BJP. Key contenders for cabinet positions include:
Krishna Gahlawat: The 62-year-old MLA from Rai hails from the Jat community and previously served as a minister in the Bansi Lal-led BJP-Vikas Party government in 1996. Having lost the Rai seat in 2014, her return to the legislature this year could help the BJP solidify its base in the Jat-dominated regions of Sonipat, Rohtak, and Jhajjar.
Arti Rao: A first-time MLA from Ateli, Arti won her seat by a narrow margin of 3,085 votes. A 15-time national skeet shooting champion, she has also been active in sports administration. Arti's influential father, Rao Inderjit Singh, has been a significant political force in South Haryana. Her supporters are advocating for her to receive a prominent political position, potentially even Deputy CM.
Shruti Choudhry: At 49, Shruti has made a political shift from Congress to BJP and won the Tosham seat by over 14,000 votes. A law graduate and former MP from Bhiwani-Mahendragarh, she expresses cautious optimism regarding her chances of becoming a minister, emphasizing that such decisions rest with the party's high command.
Savitri Jindal: Known as India's richest woman and chairperson of the O.P. Jindal Group, Savitri Jindal contested the elections as an Independent after being denied a BJP ticket. With a rich political history, including past ministerial roles, she aims to make a comeback in Haryana politics after supporting the BJP alongside her son, Naveen Jindal.
As the BJP seeks to introduce fresh faces, the party is also considering senior leaders and former ministers for positions, including Anil Vij, Rao Narbir Singh, and others. The dynamics of the new cabinet promise to be interesting as these women leaders vie for significant roles in Haryana's governance.
