In Jaipur, Rajasthan, all banks are closed today, September 22, due to Navratra Sthapna. This marks the start of the Navratri festival. Although this closure is not nationwide, it significantly affects banking operations in Jaipur. Navratra Sthapna is a significant Hindu ritual marking the beginning of Navratri. It involves establishing the goddess's presence and is considered very auspicious. As a result, both public and private banks in Jaipur remain closed for the day. This closure aligns with RBI-approved regional holidays based on local cultural and religious importance.

Besides today's closure in Jaipur, other regions will also experience bank holidays soon. On September 23, banks in Jammu and Srinagar will close to celebrate Maharaja Hari Singh Ji's birthday, the last ruler of Jammu & Kashmir. Additionally, September 27 and 28 are non-working days across India as they fall on the fourth Saturday and Sunday.

"Banks across India, including the State Bank of India (SBI), remain closed during holidays mandated by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). These holidays also comprise the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, and all Sundays in the month."
