Narshinganand Giri Opposes Upcoming India-Bangladesh T20 Match Amid Recent Violence Concerns

Yati Narshinganand Giri, a controversial seer, voiced his opposition to the T20 cricket match between India and Bangladesh. The match is set for 9 October in Delhi. He criticised the Indian government for inviting Bangladesh despite recent violence against Hindus there. "Our people Hindus were killed in Bangladesh and our government is inviting Bangladesh to play cricket here," he stated to reporters.

Giri expressed that Bangladeshi players feel safe visiting India because they know Hindus will not attack them. He remarked, "They are staying in our five-star hotels. Our sisters and daughters are showering flowers on them. Our people are welcoming them and the match is going on and the whole world is enjoying it. This is the work of us Hindus."

Recent Unrest in Bangladesh

The UN Human Rights Office reported nearly 650 deaths in Bangladesh due to unrest from 16 July to 11 August. They called for a thorough, impartial investigation into alleged extrajudicial killings and arbitrary arrests. The report highlights significant human rights concerns during this period.

The Bangladesh National Hindu Grand Alliance highlighted attacks on the minority community in 278 locations across 48 districts. These incidents have been linked to the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government, which they describe as an assault on Hinduism.

Opposition to Cricket Match

Giri stated that they would oppose the cricket match scheduled for 9 October. His comments reflect concerns over the safety and treatment of Hindus in Bangladesh amidst ongoing tensions.

The situation has raised questions about diplomatic relations between India and Bangladesh. The decision to host the cricket match has sparked debate given the recent violence against Hindus in Bangladesh.

As events unfold, both countries face scrutiny over their handling of these sensitive issues. The international community continues to monitor developments closely, urging peaceful resolutions and respect for human rights.
