Narendra Modi set to conquer South, to hold rallies in Karnataka today

Bangalore, Feb 28: Prime Ministerial candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seems to be all set to conquer the South, the region where the party has so far failed to mark its presence prominently. The Gujarat CM has been scheduled to hold two rallies in Karnataka on Friday, Feb 28.

While Modi address his first rally at Atal Bihari Vajpayee layout in Gulbarga around 12:00 pm, his second rally has been organised at Hubli. Modi's rallies in the souther states of the country are crucial for BJP.

Karnataka is the only southern state where BJP had succeeded to form government on its own. However, the party lost power to Congress following cracks withing the party over BS Yeddyurappa's alleged role in several corruption cases. Now, experts believe that Modi is one of the crucial weapons for BJP to woo the people of the state.

Recently, a TV news channel survey predicted that BJP, led by Modi, will win 11 seats, Congress 14, JD-S 2 and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) 1 in Karnataka. The southern state send 28 MPs to Lok Sabha.

It also has been reported that backed by Modi, BJP might register its best ever performance in General Elections due by May 2014. On the contrary, Conngress would be decimated to double digits - its' worst ever performance since Independence.
