Narendra Modi addresses Nation shares #MannKiBaat
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation through radio programme Mann Ki Baat. In his address he talked about Rio Olympic and asked people to encourage our athletes. He talked about the efforts and hard work that goes into making an athlete.

He said that no one can become a player overnight it requires ages of efforts. PM asked people to share their wishes for the players on PM's App so that he can convey them to the players who are going to represent India at the Rio Olympics 2016.

PM also shared a poem written by MyGov user Suraj Prakash Upadhyay for Rio Olympics 2016.
PM then talked about 'People's President' APJ Abdul Kalam and said that when we remember Dr. Kalam we think of science and technology. PM further added that out future is going to be technology driven and we should embrace it.

PM talked about Atal Innovation Mission also and added that there should be an ecosystem of innovators and we should encourage innovation, experiment and entrepreneurship.
PM then went on to talk about monsoon season and how in this season it is easy to fall ill. He requested people not to stop taking antibiotics without doctor's advice as this can later cause more problems for us if illness recurs. PM talked to people about the harmful effects of overdose of medicines too.

PM then talked about government's plan to bring down maternal mortality rate. He informed that under the new government scheme each month on 9th day there will be free checkup for all pregnant women.

PM then brought to the notice of the people various states opting for huge tree plantation drives. He also talked of Sonal a girl from Pune who gave mango saplings to all the guests who had come for her wedding. PM added that we should create mass movement of planting as many trees as possible.

He said that Maharashtra government planted 2.25 crore trees on the first of July and next year the government plans to plant 3 crore plants. Similarly, Rajasthan Government planted 25 lakh trees under the initiative My Green Rajasthan. PM said such efforts should be encouraged.
PM attracted the attention of the people towards the state of Andhra Pradesh which has decided to increase its green cover by 50% before 2029.

PM then talked about urge of all parents to make future of our children more secure. He further added that for this many people get attracted by phishing fraud and emails. PM advised people not to invest in such schemes. This point of was brought to the notice of PM by Shilpi Verma.

PM also talked about meeting a team of people who had worked to beautify Aligarh Railway station. He requested that this Raksha Bandhan one can gift sisters with Pradhan Mantri Insurance Plan or Jevan Jyoti Insurance Plan and secure their future.
