Flood Warnings and Travel Advisory In Nagaland

In Dimapur, heavy rains have led to waterlogging in several parts of the commercial area. The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has issued warnings for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms across the state until August 25.

"Due to the likelihood of excessive precipitation, Nagaland's lowland and foothill regions including Dimapur, Nuiland, Chumukedima, Bhandari, Pangti, Tizit, and Tuli are likely to be impacted by waterlogging and flash floods," NSDMA said, as reported by Hindustan Times.

The NSDMA urged the public to exercise caution to avoid any eventualities during this period. The advisory from NSDMA highlights that areas such as Dimapur, Nuiland, Chumukedima, Bhandari, Pangti, Tizit, and Tuli could face waterlogging and flash floods due to expected heavy rainfall. Residents are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions, as reported by Hindustan Times.

The continuous downpour has significantly affected daily life in Dimapur with several areas experiencing severe waterlogging. Authorities are working on clearing the blocked highway while advising travellers to seek alternative routes for safety, as per media reports.

Residents are urged to remain cautious during this period of adverse weather conditions. The authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as needed.
