JP Nadda Accuses Kejriwal of Dual Standards in Maliwal Assault Case

BJP President J.P. Nadda has launched a scathing attack on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, criticizing his silence over the alleged assault on Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal within the Chief Minister's residence. Nadda's remarks came during a roadshow in New Delhi, where he voiced his support for BJP candidate Bansuri Swaraj. He accused Kejriwal of exhibiting "double character and dual standards" by not addressing the incident for four days.

Nadda Slams Kejriwals Silence

The roadshow, aimed at drumming up support for the BJP ahead of elections, saw Nadda expressing confidence in the party's prospects under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. He predicted that the BJP would secure over 370 seats, with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) surpassing 400 seats. Nadda highlighted the positive atmosphere in Delhi and across the country, suggesting a strong wave of support for the BJP, particularly in constituencies previously considered strongholds of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Nadda also took a jab at the AAP's foundation and leadership, accusing them of being rooted in dishonesty. He referenced past incidents, including the alleged assault on the then Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash in February 2018, to illustrate what he described as AAP's problematic style of governance. The BJP president's critique extended to Kejriwal's recent avoidance of questions regarding Maliwal's assault during a press conference in Lucknow with Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav.

The incident involving Maliwal has reignited discussions about the conduct and accountability of AAP leaders, particularly in light of previous allegations of assault against Delhi government officials. Nadda's comments reflect an attempt to highlight these issues as part of the BJP's broader electoral strategy in Delhi.

As political tensions rise ahead of elections, both parties are intensifying their campaigns to win over voters. The BJP is leveraging recent controversies to question AAP's governance and ethical standards, while AAP leaders have yet to provide a detailed response to these allegations. The unfolding political drama underscores the highly charged atmosphere in Delhi's political landscape, with implications for both local governance and national electoral politics.
