'My self-respect hurt', says Lingayat leader MB Patil
Former minister and Lingayat leader MB Patil, who has failed to make the cut in the Cabinet ministers list, said he would not take any post offered by the government.
Speaking to a TV channel after the swearing-in ceremony of new ministers, MB Patil, said, " I will call on Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM G Parameshwara to know about why I was not included in the Cabinet."
"My self-respect is hurt by this development. I don't want to take any posts offered by the party hereafter. I will continue as an MLA," he said.
MB Patil was in the forefront of the movement for separate religion status for Lingayat community. He won the Babaleshwar constituency in the assembly elections. He was Irrigation Minister (2013-2018) in the Siddaramaiah government.
Also, JDS MLA from Sira constituency Satyanarayana and another Congress MLA from Bhadrawati Sangameshwara expressed similar views.
Satyanarayana, who belongs to Kunchatiga community, was unhappy with the Congress-JDS alliance government for not inducting MLA from his community.
