Ghaziabad Police Arrest Two Murder Suspects Following High-Speed Chase

Two individuals were apprehended by Ghaziabad police after a pursuit when they attempted to evade a routine check, according to an official. At approximately 2:30 am, officers signalled two men on a motorcycle, Arun and Anuj Gautam, both aged 23, to halt. Instead of complying, they accelerated away, DCP City Rajesh Kumar informed reporters on Friday.

Upon interrogation, the suspects revealed they had shot a man named Chanchal on Wednesday night at 9:30 pm. The incident stemmed from a disagreement over Rs 850 won in gambling. Chanchal succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital, the officer stated.

Police Encounter and Recovery of Weapons

The suspects led the police to the location where they had concealed their weapons. However, instead of surrendering the firearms, they fired at the officers. In response, police shot them in the legs. Both were then taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

The duo confessed to Chanchal's murder during questioning. The police recovered two country-made pistols and four empty cartridges from them. They have been incarcerated, while a third accomplice remains at large.
