Murder Suspect UP Man Studies Law, Argues His Own Case; Walks Free After 12 Years
12 years ago, a man hailing from Uttar Pradesh found himself falsely accused in a murder case. Determined to clear his name from the false accusations, he took on his legal defense. The man in the case was cleared by the court's recent ruling, according to a TOI report.
Amit Chaudhary was wrongly linked to the 2011 killing of two police officers in Meerut. Eventually, he was accused of involvement in the notorious Kali's murderous plan.

The victims being police personnel drew the attention of the then UP CM Mayawati, who ordered the immediate arrest of the culprits.
Despite being at Shamli with his sister during the time of the murder, Chaudhary found himself among the 17 accused in the case, facing harsh penalties imposed by both the National Security Agency and the Indian Penal Code.
Speaking to TOI, Chaudhary recounted his experience, stating, "While in Muzaffarnagar jail, notorious gang figures such as Anil Dujana and Vicky Tyagi (both deceased in encounters) attempted to recruit me into their gangs. Thankfully, the jailor was kind-hearted, granting me placement in a barrack separate from where the gang members were housed."
After being granted bail in 2013, Chaudhary dedicated himself to his legal studies. Chaudhary attained a BA, LLB, and LLM, among various other academic accomplishments. Additionally, he successfully cleared the Bar Council exam and presented his own case. Through exhaustive debates and meticulous examination of witnesses, the court ultimately cleared him of the murder charge after over a decade.
Amit, who once aspired to serve in the army and even earned a "C" certificate in NCC from the 74th battalion, was unfortunately unable to fulfill this dream due to his imprisonment that coincided with his planned recruitment.
