Murder convict, serving life term, escapes from Bangalore central jail
Bengaluru, Apr 11: A prisoner serving life term for murder at Parappana Agrahara prison here escaped by walking out through the front gate of the prison misleading the guard, jail officials said today.
They said when prisoners were let out their barracks yesterday, Manjunath who has served six years of his term, walked to the administrative block stating that he wanted to apply for parole.
Instead of returning back to the prison he walked towards jail's second gate.

By then he is said to have managed to get his hand stamped used to identify visitors and even changed his cloths.
On suspicion, the guard posted at the second gate questioned Manjunath to which he said that he was already on parole and was visiting the prison to seek extension by showing the stamp, officials said, adding, from there he walked out through the main gate.
