Mumbai University to get 28 new colleges this year

Mumbai, July 13: Students of Mumbai see a new ray of hope as the city may get 28 new colleges this year.

A Department of Higher and Technical Education official said that 28 colleges have been shortlisted and the proposal has been sent to the state government.

A final decision can be expected by the end of this month.

However, on the flip side, University officials said that it would be difficult to start courses at the colleges from the current academic session.

It is also said that since admissions to various courses are over and classes began early in July, there would not be enough time to admit students for the new session.
