Mumbai Police Investigate West Bengal Woman Linked to SIM Card of Saif Ali Khan's Attacker
A woman from West Bengal reported to the police that her mobile phone was lost. This phone's SIM card was used by Shariful Islam, a Bangladeshi national accused of attacking actor Saif Ali Khan in Mumbai. An official confirmed this information on Monday.

The police are certain that Shariful attacked the 54-year-old Bollywood actor. The incident occurred on January 16 during a robbery attempt at Khan's Bandra apartment. A Mumbai police team visited Nadia and Murshidabad districts in West Bengal as part of their investigation.
Investigation Details
Shariful, who entered India illegally last year, was arrested in Thane city, near Mumbai. He is currently in police custody until January 29. The investigation revealed that Shariful used the woman's SIM card for making calls. Her statement has been recorded, and the police are verifying her claim about losing her phone.
The official reiterated the certainty of Shariful's involvement in the attack. He was armed with a hacksaw blade and a knife during the incident. The police plan to visit locations in West Bengal where Shariful stayed after entering India from Bangladesh.
