Mumbai Murder Accused Brought Nilgiri Oil, Took Pics After Chopping Live-In Partner

A heartbreaking development has emerged in the alleged murder case of Saraswati Vaidya, who was brutally killed and dismembered by her 56-year-old live-in partner, Manoj Sane, in Mumbai's Mira Road area. One of Vaidya's sisters became emotional upon seeing a photograph of Vaidya's long hair, which the accused had cut and placed on the kitchen platform of their flat. The sister revealed that Vaidya loved her long hair, according to the Mira-Bhayandar and Vasai-Virar Police.

The police have discovered that Vaidya had four sisters, with three of them already providing their statements to the authorities. The sisters expressed deep anger towards the accused, Manoj Sane, and requested the police to build a strong case to ensure he receives the harshest possible punishment, as reported by news agency ANI.

In a recent development, the police disclosed that Sane had taken pictures of the victim's body after committing the murder. Sane also conducted numerous Google searches to find information on how to dispose of a body.

A senior officer from the Mira Bhayandar Vasai Virar (MBVV) Police Commissionerate sais that Sane has been providing inconsistent statements during interrogation. However, the police have conducted cross-verification of many of his claims.

On June 4, immediately after the murder, the accused purchased an electric wood cutter (chainsaw) from a local hardware shop, which he used to dismember the body. However, the chain of the wood cutter broke during the process, prompting him to return to the same shop for repairs.

It has been revealed that Sane meticulously cleaned the wood cutter to conceal any evidence of his actions. Additionally, he searched on Google for ways to prevent the foul smell emanating from a decomposing body and purchased five bottles of Nilgiri oil from a shop in his locality.

On Monday, the police will send DNA samples from Vaidya and her close relatives to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for analysis.

As Sane has admitted to marrying Vaidya at a temple in Borivali, the police are working to verify the temple's location and identify the priest who conducted the marriage ceremony. Furthermore, they will search for any witnesses to the marriage.

It has come to light that the couple concealed their marriage from acquaintances due to the significant age difference between them. Sane had been residing with Vaidya in a rented flat in the Akashganga building in Mira Road for the past three years.
