MPs to get 100 per cent hike in salary
The Prime Minister's Office agreed to the recommendation made by the Joint Committee on Salaries and Allowances of Members of Parliament which is headed by BJP leader Yogi Adityanand
New Delhi, Nov 2: Members of Parliament can soon expect a 100 per cent salary hike. The centre has decided to give a 100 per cent to all MPs. The basic pay of the MPs will be raised from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh.
The Prime Minister's Office agreed to the recommendation made by the Joint Committee on Salaries and Allowances of Members of Parliament which is headed by BJP leader Yogi Adityanand.

The PMO has also agreed to revise the allowances of MPs too.
The government has also proposed to increase the salary of the President of India from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh a month. Salaries for Governors too would be increased from Rs 1.10 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh.
