MP: Lokayukta raids Ujjain water resources official's residence, recovers assets worth crores

Bhopal, Nov 1: In a raid conducted on Saturday morning, the Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta police has recovered assets worth over Rs 1.44 crores from Water Resources Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) of Ujjain. The Lokyukta police conducted raid at the residence of SDO Chandra Singh Chadhavande on Saturday.

The recovered assets include cash, property, jewellery and several unauthorized bank accounts. The police have registered a case against the SDO.

"A disproportionate assets case has been registered against the SDO. We have recovered cash, jewellery and property and bank account documents," Basant Shrivastav, Inspector, Lokayukta police was quoted as saying in reports.

Last month, Lokayukta police raided the residence of the Deputy Commissioner of the State excise department, Naval Singh Jamod and seized a huge amount of cash, ornaments and other expensive items.

The search operations were conducted at various places owned by Jamod Lokayukta Director General of Police (DGP), Daulat Singh.
