Mothers on Wheels Initiative Launched by Delhi CM to Celebrate Indian Mothers' Global Contributions
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta recently launched a unique initiative called Mothers on Wheels from the Delhi Secretariat. This program aims to connect Indian mothers with the global community and acknowledge their contributions worldwide. The journey will see mothers travel across Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, celebrating their crucial role in society.

In an Instagram post, Gupta expressed her excitement about the expedition, stating: "Flagged off the 2nd Mothers on Wheels expedition from the Delhi Secretariat today. This incredible journey will take mothers on wheels across Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. The expedition celebrates the pivotal role of mothers in shaping society. Wishing them a successful journey."
Mothers' Global Impact
During the event, CM Gupta highlighted that mothers not only hold families together but also have the potential to unite societies globally. Through this initiative, Indian mothers will promote the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, meaning 'the world is one family,' spreading compassion worldwide. She noted that this effort would help understand changing family dynamics and the evolving role of mothers internationally.
The Chief Minister further elaborated on the sacrifices made by mothers for their families. She stated that mothers often prioritise their families over personal aspirations and comforts, dedicating their lives to nurturing their children and family members.
Recognising Sacrifices and Contributions
Gupta emphasised that when Indian mothers' emotions reach a global audience, it will undoubtedly enhance a sense of brotherhood. The event was graced by Padma Vibhushan awardee Sonal Mansingh, program organiser Madhuri Sahasrabuddhe, and other notable figures.
The Mothers on Wheels initiative provides a platform for recognising the invaluable contributions of mothers. It acknowledges how they shape society while often putting aside their own needs for the well-being of their families.
This initiative not only celebrates mothers but also aims to foster a deeper understanding of their roles in different cultural contexts. By connecting with diverse communities, it seeks to strengthen global ties through shared values and experiences.
