Mosques can be demolished any time: Subramanian Swamy
Bengaluru, Mar 15: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy has sparked a fresh controversy with 'objectionable' remarks on mosques, stating that mosque is just a building and can be demolished any time.
Swamy made the controversial statement at a function in Guwahati, Assam.

Swamy was quoted as saying that mosque is not a religious place. It is just a building and can be demolished any time. He also said that he got this information from people of Saudi Arabia, and he is ready to debate on the issue.
Police have registered an FIR under IPC sections 120 (B) [criminal conspiracy] and 153 (A) (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion) against Swamy.
Reacting to the statement, Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) president Akhil Gogoi said Swamy is apparently trying to trigger a riot between the Muslims and the Hindus with such provocative comments.
He also asked Swamy not to play with the sentiments of the Assamese people.
Sidestepping the issue state BJP president Siddhartha Bhattacharjee said that Swamy makes such statements only to be in the news, and added that he will be sending video clippings of his statements to our national leadership.
