Monsoon delayed, likely in Delhi by July 1
New Delhi, June 29: A lower atmospheric pressure around the Bay of Bengal, since defused, has delayed by a few days the arrival of monsoon in Delhi, weather experts said on Wednesday, june 29. The rains will now hit Delhi on July 1.
Normally, the monsoon reaches Delhi by June 27 or 28.The India Meteorological Department (IMD), however, said the monsoon arrival had not been delayed though it also says it will reach the capital in the first week of July.

"Low pressure area created around the Bay of Bengal has defused and reached around Vidarbha in Maharashtra," Mahesh Palawat of private weather forecaster Skymet said.
Delhi will receive the first monsoon rains by July 1 evening or night.Weatherman, however, claimed rains would not be deficient this year.
Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand have received low rains so far."The low-pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal, adjoining Odisha, halted the moisture content from moving towards the national capital both from the north-east and south-west," an IMD official said.
