Mohan Yadav To Replace Shivraj Singh Chouhan As BJP's New Chief Minister Of MP
Mohan Yadav will be the next Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, the BJP announced on Monday evening. He is replacing the state's longest-serving CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Jagdish Deora and Rajesh Shukla will be the Deputy Chief Ministers of the state. The decision was taken at the meeting held at the BJP headquarters in Bhopal on Monday in the presence of central observers Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, its OBC 'Morcha' head K Laxman and its secretary Asha Lakra. It is said that Yadav, who served as the education minister in Chouhan's government, had the backing of the RSS.

In his first statement after the big announcement, Yadav said, "I thank PM Modi, Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, VD Sharma for giving me such a big responsibility. It is only the BJP party which can give such a big responsibility to a small worker like me. I will take forward the development journey of the state..."
After party leader Mohan Yadav was elected as the new Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan tendered his resignation to Governor Mangubhai C Patel at Raj Bhavan in Bhopal.
The outgoing CM congratulated Yadav and said, "I am confident that under the able guidance of respected Prime Minister Narendra Modiji, you will take Madhya Pradesh to new heights of progress and development and will create new records in the field of public welfare. Many congratulations and best wishes for this new responsibility!"
Madhya Pradesh BJP president VD Sharma says, "...I congratulate the entire leadership and express gratitude for electing such a worker (Mohan Yadav) who is committed to the ideology and dedicated his life to working for it with his hard work..."
In the recently-concluded assembly polls, Yadav defeated his nearest rival Chetan Premnarayan Yadav from the Congress by a margin of 12,941 votes in the Ujjain South constituency.
The BJP in MP this time contested the November 17 assembly elections without projecting incumbent Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan as its CM face. It was after 20 years that the party did not name its chief ministerial candidate before polls in MP.
It has to be noted that Shivraj Singh Chouhan is the longest-serving Chief Minister of the BJP in India with a break of 15 months. He is also the longest-serving Chief Minister of MP as well.
Narendra Singh Tomar is the new Speaker of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly.
