Modi wishes Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on birthday
New Delhi, Apr 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday wished Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on her birthday and prayed for her "long life" and "good health".
"My best wishes to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Sumitra Mahajan ji on her birthday. I pray for her long life & good health," tweeted Modi, who is currently on a three-nation tour to France, Germany and Canada.
Born on this day in 1943, eight-time parliamentarian Mahajan, MP from Indore in Madhya Pradesh, became the second woman speaker of the Lok Sabha after Meira Kumar, who presided over the 15th Lok Sabha.
