Modi DNA remark: First sample collected in Patna
Patna,Aug11: The first batch of DNA samples by the JD(U) supporters in Bihar is all set to be shipped to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A sealed envelope with the message, " doubters can get it checked," comprising strands of hair or pieces of nails will be sent to the Prime Minister on Tuesday.
At a gathering in Patna where several supporters of the JD(U) gathered, a campaign was undertaken to send DNA samples to the Prime Minister who had questioned the DNA of Chief Minister of Nitish Kumar.

The JD(U) says that this is the first part of the drive. There will be many more such drives and nearly 50 lakh people from Bihar will send Modi their DNA samples as part of the Shabd Wapsi campaign.
The gathering at Patna saw a large number of JD(U) supporters who cut of a strand of their hair or bit their nails before putting it in a sealed envelope. The sealed envelope which has the message, " doubters can get it checked also a diagram of the DNA.
The JD(U) supporters also held a protest march in Patna before the DNA samples were collected. The supporters also shouted slogans against the BJP and demanded that Modi take back his DNA comment.
The comment by Modi:
On July 25 during a rally at Muzzafarpur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that there appears to be a problem with Nitish Kumar's DNA. The DNA of democracy is not like that Modi had also said while explaining in democracy respect is given to political rivals too.
The JD(U) had raised strong objection to the statement and gave Modi time until Monday to take back the DNA comment. The JD(U) said if the comment was not withdrawn then the Shab Wapsi drive would be launched in which the signatures of 50 lakh people would be collected and their DNA samples sent for testing.
