New Delhi, Nov 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated Republican Donald Trump on being elected as the 45th President of the US and said India looks forward to working with him closely to take bilateral ties to "a new height".
"Congratulations @realDonaldTrump on being elected as the 45th US President," Modi tweeted.

The Prime Minister also appreciated the friendship that Trump had "articulated towards India" during his campaign.
"We look forward to working with you closely to take India-US bilateral ties to a new height," he said.
Trump, 70, was on Wednesday elected the new US President, defeating Democrat Hillary Clinton.
