Model-Influencer San Rechal Gandhi Dies By Suicide At 26 In Puducherry
Model and social media influencer San Rechal Gandhi tragically died by suicide on Sunday, July 13, in Puducherry. The 26-year-old, who had reportedly been under severe financial stress, had sold her jewellery in recent months to support her modelling career. Just hours before her death, she is said to have visited her father to seek financial assistance, but he declined, citing his obligations toward his son.
According to the local police, San Rechal had been struggling with financial pressure for a considerable time. In an attempt to keep her career afloat, she sold off some of her jewellery. When her funds still fell short, she turned to her father for help. However, he refused, explaining he had to prioritize the financial needs of his son. Deeply disheartened, San Rechal chose to end her life by reportedly consuming a large number of tablets.

Following the overdose, attempts were made to admit her to both a government and a private hospital, but she was eventually taken to the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), where she passed away.
A suicide note was recovered after her death, in which San Rechal stated that no one should be held accountable for her decision.
