MK Stalin Responds To Actor-Politician Vijay, Says 'Long Live Critics
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin addressed allegations made by actor-turned-politician Vijay. The accusations focused on unfulfilled promises and governance issues. Stalin responded during an event in the Kolathur assembly constituency, Chennai, on November 4. Vijay had criticised the ruling party's performance, claiming that their election manifesto was deceptive and aimed solely at gaining power.
At a recent executive council meeting of Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam, Vijay's party passed 26 resolutions. Key among these were opposition to 'One Nation, One Election' and 'NEET'. He also alleged that the law and order situation in Tamil Nadu was neglected to benefit certain individuals. These statements were part of his broader critique of the current administration.

Chief Minister's Rebuttal
In response to these claims, Chief Minister Stalin asserted that most of the government's poll promises had been fulfilled. He stated, "Some are claiming that our government hasn't done anything. They should all see this, whichever party they may be. Whatever promises we made, we have accomplished and the remaining one or two will be implemented soon." His remarks aimed to counter the narrative of inaction presented by Vijay.
Stalin highlighted Tamil Nadu's strong performance in growth-related data released by the Union Government. He attributed this success to the Dravidian model of governance. This model has been a cornerstone of his administration's policies and achievements, according to him.
Addressing Criticisms
The Chief Minister also addressed those forming new political parties with hopes of dismantling the DMK. He expressed confidence in his government's four-year track record and quoted Anna, saying, "long live critics." He added, "I don't care (about the criticisms), our job is to work for the benefit of the people. We don't need to respond to anyone unnecessarily."
Stalin's comments reflect a broader strategy to maintain focus on governance rather than engaging in political disputes. By emphasising accomplishments and future plans, he seeks to reassure supporters and counter detractors effectively.
The ongoing political discourse between Stalin and Vijay highlights key issues within Tamil Nadu politics. As both figures continue their exchanges, public attention remains fixed on how these discussions will influence future governance and policy decisions in the state.
