Mitti Mein Mil Gaye Hum: Atiq Ahmed cries as son Asad set to be buried today in Prayagraj

Asad Ahmed will be buried next to the resting place of his grandfather, News18 reported citing sources. A grave has been dug in Kasari Masari village in Chakiya area.

The postmortem has been conducted at the Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College in Jhansi.

Dr Narendra Sengar, Principal of Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College, Jhansi, said that Asad had two bullet injuries whereas his accomplice Ghulam had only one.

"Under the legal process, the postmortem was conducted. The whole body X-Ray was done. The post-mortem examination was carried out by a team of doctors in the medical college," ANI quoted Sengar as saying. "Asad had two bullet injuries whereas Ghulam had only one. There were no signs of 'rigor mortis'. I think they died 1.30-2 hours before they were brought here. Their post-mortem has been conducted," Dr Narendra Sengar added.

His body will be handed over to his family members after the completion of postmortem procedures, police said.

Initially, reports had claimed that the body of Asad Ahmed will be handed over in Jhansi. Then it was said that the body would be brought to Prayagraj and will be handover to his distant relatives.

However, the cops have now informed the deceased's family to take the body from Jhansi, News18 has learnt.

On the other hand, the family of Ghulam is reluctant to accept his body saying they cannot take the body of a criminal.

Reports claim that Atiq Ahmed has been denied permission by a court to attend the funeral of his son Asad.

According to latest reports, Shaista Parveen, wife of accused Atiq Ahmed who is on the run with a reward of Rs 50,000 on her head is planning to surrender. She will surrender in the court to attend the funeral of son Asad.

'Mitti Mein Mil Gaye Hum'

According to the same report, Atiq Ahmed was inconsolable as he pleaded the cops to allow him to attend the funeral of his son. He also repeated Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's warning and said "Mitti mein mil gaye hum (We've been reduced to dust).

He claimed that it was all "fault". "Asad had nothing to do with any of it. No one can can take the responsibility of my young sons and brothers," he told the cops as per the sources.

He then said that the world's biggest sorrow for a father is to life the body of his young son.

It has to be noted that hashtag "mitti me mila dunga" (reduce to dust) was trending on Twitter after Atiq Ahmad's son and an accomplice was eliminated by cops.

Facing flak over the brazen killing of Pal, a prime witness in the 2005 case of a BSP MLA's murder, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on February 25 accused the Samajwadi Party of nurturing mafias and vowed to destroy them.

"The mafioso whose name is emerging ... is it not true that the Samajwadi Party had made him an MP... He was a mafioso nurtured by the SP. Our government is working to break their back. 'Mitti me mila denge'," Adityanath said in the Assembly.

On Thursday, several users made a hashtag of Adityanath's statement as they tweeted about the alleged encounter in Jhansi.

The hashtag was trending at the top for a major part of the day as several users supported the police action. Till late evening, close to 60 thousand people had tweeted using the hashtag.
