The row over BJP's objection to some scenes in Tamil movie Mersal portraying the GST in poor light is just refusing to die. After several political parties and the film fraternity in Tamil Nadu lashing out at the ruling party at the centre for trying to silence critics, BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha also trained guns at the party over the matter.

Sinha, who has criticised his party over several issues, told the media on Saturday, "Some support GST, some don't. Some support Demonetisation some don't, this doesn't mean critics are anti-national."

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi earlier on Saturday joined the debate on Tamil movie 'Mersal'.

"Mr. Modi, Cinema is a deep expression of Tamil culture and language. Don't try to demon-etise Tamil pride by interfering in Mersal," he wrote on his Twitter handle.

Earlier, Chidambaram had said: "Notice to filmmakers: Law is coming, you can only make documentaries praising government's policies."

The Tamil film 'Mersal' is under the spotlight for criticising GST and demonetisation- decisions made by the Prime Minister

Tamil Nadu BJP leaders have said that scenes from the movie criticising the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and the Digital India campaign must be removed since they are inaccurate.
