Mehbooba had got illegal ok from Nirmala Sitharaman on FIR against Major: Swamy

Amidst the debate on the FIR lodged against an Army Major in Kashmir, BJP leader, Subramanian Swamy has said that he had reliable information regarding the same.

In a tweet, Swamy said, " In Jammu I got reliable input that Mehbooba Mufti had indeed phoned NS (Nirmala Sitharaman) about the FIR and got her illegal ok. CM later informed J&K officers."

There has been a huge debate over this issue since the police had registered an FIR against the Major and others. The FIR was lodged after the Army opened fire in self defence against the stone pelters at Shopian recently.

The J&K CM, Mehbooba Mufti had said that the FIR was lodged in consultation with the Defence Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman. The Major's father, a war veteran himself had moved the Supreme Court seeking to quash the FIR.

The SC had last weeks stayed the FIR. The court also made it clear that none shall be arrested in the case. The court further added that the officer will also not be called in for questioning during the pendency of the case.
