Meghalaya: Teen girl raped by father, beheaded and burnt to death

Garo Hills, Oct 6: The body of a 15 year old girl, who went missing from home a week ago, was found in a charred condition in a jungle in

. She was beheaded and burnt after being raped, suspect police. Her father, being the prime suspect behind the misdeed, has been arrested.

This got confirmed when the mother filed a complaint against her husband, alleging that he assualted their daughter sexually.

However, the father presents a different version of the incident. He said that he had taken the girl to a doctor at Williamnagar town and had sent her home alone in an auto. He came later after some work at the market. When the girl did not reach home for hours, he went to the police station and filed a complaint.

After the girl's body was found, a second complaint was registered under a law on sexual crimes against children and her father was arrested. The inquest report suggests that the condition of the body indicates that she may have been raped before she was killed. The police is waiting for the forensic report.
