Prime Minister Narendra Modi crossed paths with Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni during the COP28 summit in Dubai. Their friendly encounter during this diplomatic event resulted in a candid selfie shared by Meloni on her X account, capturing a moment of camaraderie at the summit. PM Modi reciprocated by retweeting Meloni's post, expressing the joy of meeting friends during such international gatherings.

Expressing his delight, the prime minister shared on social media platform X, "Meeting friends is always a delight."

Meloni seized the moment by snapping a selfie with PM Modi, later sharing it on her X account captioned, "Good friends at COP28 #Melodi."

This wasn't the first interaction between the leaders. Meloni's earlier visit to India for the G20 Summit saw productive discussions with PM Modi. They delved into crucial sectors like trade, defense, and emerging technologies, emphasizing the collaborative efforts between India and Italy for global prosperity.

In a visit earlier in March, Meloni had participated as the chief guest at the 8th Raisina Dialogue 2023. During her stay, she engaged in bilateral discussions with PM Modi at Hyderabad House in the capital.

Following their meeting, a joint press briefing had Meloni praising Modi as one of the most revered global leaders. She expressed, "(PM Modi) is the most loved one of all (leaders) around the world. This is really proven that he has been a major leader and congratulations for that."
