Hathras Incident
A similar tragic incident occurred in July this year when a stampede claimed the lives of about 121 people, mostly women and children, in Phulrai village, within the Sikandra Rau police station area of Hathras district. The stampede occurred during a satsang led by self-styled godman Surajpal, also known as Bhole Baba, a resident of Kasganj district in Uttar Pradesh.
