Meerut's Nude Gang Incidents Spark Fear Among Women

In Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, a series of unsettling incidents have been reported involving a so-called 'nude gang'. This group allegedly targets women, dragging them to isolated. The latest incident has sparked fear among the women in Daurala, prompting police to launch an investigation. Despite efforts, no suspects have been apprehended yet. Authorities are using drones to monitor the area for any suspicious activity.

The most recent case involved two men attempting to abduct a woman on her way to work in Bharaala village. She managed to escape by screaming for help. Villagers quickly gathered at the scene but found no trace of the attackers. The woman described her assailants as being unclothed, which has added to the community's alarm.

Community Response and Police Measures

Fearful of further attacks, the woman has since changed jobs and routes, according to her husband who spoke with NDTV. This incident marks the fourth occurrence of such attacks in the area. Previous incidents went unreported due to concerns about public embarrassment. However, villagers now believe police intervention is necessary as the situation escalates.

Rajendra Kumar, the village chief, expressed that initial reports were not taken seriously by locals. However, growing fear has prompted action as this gang appears to target only women. In response, police have conducted searches in nearby fields and installed CCTV cameras for increased surveillance.

Authorities' Efforts and Public Perception

Senior officers led a drone-assisted search operation last Saturday that lasted several hours but yielded no suspects. Senior Superintendent of Police Vipin Tada confirmed that female officers have been deployed in the area as part of ongoing efforts to locate those responsible.

While some families remain confined indoors due to fear of this 'nude gang', others dismiss it as mere rumours spread by troublemakers aiming to discredit law enforcement and local authorities.
