Meerut: Jeweller rapes, kills sister-in-law on tantrik's advice

Verma was not doing well in business and approached tantrik for advice who then asked him to kill his sister-in-law as she had done black magic.

Sanjay Verma, who is a meerut-based jeweller on Thursday allegedly raped and then smothered his 25-year-old sister in-law to death.

It is learnt that the tantrik had advised the jeweller that the reason behind his loss in business is because of this woman.

Verma was not going well in business and approached tantrik for advice who then asked him to kill his sister-in-law as she had done black magic.

According to station house officer Vijay Kumar Gupta of Kotwali police station in Meerut district,'' Verma went to his brother's home on Thursday morning and gave him some money to get liquor from the market. Once he left the house, Verma allegedly raped and killed his brother's wife.''

After killing the woman, Verma came out of the house and raised an alarm. However, the jeweller broke down and confessed the crime.
