'Troublesome' media hampers our work: Manish Sisodia on banning reporters in Delhi Secretariat
New Delhi, Feb 17: After avoiding questions over why the Arvind Kejriwal led-government in Delhi restricted media's entry in the Delhi Secretariat, Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Tuesday came up with a bizarre justification saying media does not allow them to work properly.
Until recently, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was all praise to this fourth pillar of the democracy for its work and the same media has now become a nuisance soon after the party came to power.
On Monday, the first working day of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, media persons were barred from entering the Delhi Secretariat following a scuffle among some journalists, TV crew and photographers.
A press conference by Deputy CM Sisodia and Delhi government spokesperson Nagendra Sharma was called off following the scuffle.
Security personnel at the secretariat said they have directions from senior government officials not to allow in media persons. Media persons from neither television nor print were permitted entry inside the secretariat.
Earlier in the day, the Delhi government spokesperson denied that any such directive was issued by the government to ban the entry of journalists inside the secretariat.
