Mayawati Removes Akash Anand As Successor And BSP Coordinator Till He Becomes ‘Mature'

Mayawati announced on Tuesday that she has removed Akash Anand as her successor and as the national coordinator of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) until he reaches full political maturity. In social media posts, she reiterated the party's dedication to Dr BR Ambedkar's ideals and the ongoing social change movement.

Akash Anand was appointed as BSP's national coordinator and successor to groom the new generation for advancing this movement, but he has been relieved of these roles for the party's greater benefit until he gains complete maturity.

Mayawati's Message On X

In a series of social media posts on X, Mayawati reaffirmed the party's commitment to the ideals of Dr BR Ambedkar and the "ongoing movement for social change". She said Akash Anand was appointed as BSP's national coordinator and declared as her successor as part of preparing the new generation to provide momentum to this movement. "But in the larger interest of the party and the movement, he is being removed from both these important responsibilities until he attains full maturity," she said.

It is recognized that BSP, besides being a party, is also regarded as a movement for self-respect and self-esteem of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and social change, to which our entire lives have been dedicated by Shri Kanshi Ram ji and myself, and a new generation is also being prepared to give it momentum.

In the same sequence, alongside the promotion of other individuals within the party, Shri Akash Anand was declared as the National Coordinator and his successor. However, in the larger interest of the party and the movement, he is being separated from both these important responsibilities until full maturity is attained.

While his father Shri Anand Kumar will continue to fulfill his responsibilities in the party and the movement as before. Therefore, every kind of sacrifice in the interest of the party and the movement, and in advancing the legacy of Baba Saheb Dr Ambedkar, is not going to be shied away from by the leadership of BSP.
