Mayawati Removes Akash Anand From All Posts, Says 'No Decision On Successor Till I Am Alive'
Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Mayawati on Sunday made some significant changes in party working positions. Mayawati removed her likely successon and nephew, Akash Anand from all positions in party. Akash Anand was serving as BSP's national coordinator.
Mayawati further clarified her stance on succession by stating that there would be no designated successor during her lifetime.

In addition to reshuffling the party's leadership, Mayawati also addressed several critical issues facing the country during a national executive meeting of the BSP in Lucknow. The meeting focused on a comprehensive review of the party's activities, strategies for broadening its societal base, and strengthening its organizational structure.
The BSP leader emphasized the need for addressing pressing concerns such as inflation, poverty, unemployment, and backwardness, urging both the Central and UP governments to bridge the gap between their promises and actions for the betterment of the state and its citizens.
Recently, Mayawati had expelled Akash Anand's father-in-law, Ashok Siddharth, from the BSP, indicating a tightening grip over party discipline and governance. Her decision underscores a clear message regarding the unimportance of personal relations versus the overarching goal of serving the Bahujan community.
This move also reflects her earlier reservations about Akash Anand's maturity and suitability for leadership, which she had expressed during the Lok Sabha elections. Despite previously appointing him as her successor only 47 days later in June 2024, Mayawati's recent actions suggest a reconsideration of her earlier decision.
