Mathura, Uttar Pradesh: A shocking incident has come to light in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, where a 17-year-old delinquent lodged in a government observation home allegedly took his own life by strangling himself with a muffler. The incident has raised serious questions about the safety and well-being of juveniles in such facilities, prompting a magisterial probe ordered by District Magistrate Shailendra Kumar Singh.
Magisterial Probe Ordered
According to Senior Superintendent of Police Shailesh Kumar Pandey, information about the incident was received on Monday morning. The caller reported that the minor delinquent residing in the Rajakiya Sampreshan Grah government observation home had allegedly committed suicide by tying a muffler around his neck. The incident is believed to have occurred on Sunday night.
Police Investigation Underway
Upon receiving the information, SSP Pandey and DM Singh rushed to the observation home, inspected the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. The SSP revealed that two days prior to the incident, the deceased had been presented in court by the police for allegedly kidnapping a teenage girl and attempting to marry her against her will. The court had subsequently sent him to the government observation home in judicial custody.
Family Raises Doubts, Seeks CCTV Footage
However, the brother of the deceased has cast doubt on the official narrative, alleging that his brother was murdered and that the officials of the observation home and police are attempting to cover it up by claiming it was a suicide. He has demanded access to the CCTV footage of the deceased's room, but his request has not been fulfilled.

The incident has sparked outrage and concern among the public, who are demanding a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the teenager's death.
