Mathura: 740 cartons of illicit liquor seized

With the arrest of four people, police busted a gang allegedly involved in smuggling of illicit liquor and seized 740 cartons of illegal alcohol, an official said.

"Four members of the gang have been arrested and the hunt for two kingpins is on," SP city Shravan Kumar Singh said.

Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted a truck near Mahuvan toll booth and recovered 740 cartons of illicit liquor, he said.

One country-made pistol with two live cartridges were also recovered from the truck, Singh said.
