Maratha Kranti Morcha rally in Mumbai on Wednesday, brace for traffic snarls
South Mumbai is expected to be most affected by the lakhs who will congregate to be part of the rally
Traffic in Mumbai is expected to be hit on Wednesday as Maratha Kranti Morcha is scheduled to hold a massive rally. close to five lakh people are expected to take part in the Maratha pride rally and take out a silent march in South Mumbai.

Civic administration has asked people to avoid travelling to South Mumbai while the police have put restrictions in place. The organisers, however have claimed that the march will not cause inconvenience but the sheer numbers are expected to bring the city to a standstill. Protesters are expected to arrive from different parts of Maharashtra on vehicles.
The rally will start from Jijamata Udyaan at 11 AM and culminate at Azad Maidan near the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus at 5 PM.
Reservations for Marathas in the state, amendments to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 are the key demands of protestors.
The massive rally in Mumbai comes after the community completed 57 silent rallies across multiple locations Maharashtra. On Sunday, a bike rally to invite people to take part in the August 9 rally was held. Wednesday's rally is all set to be a show of strength of the Maratha community.
The rally will pass through major junctions and is expected to mar traffic, especially after office hours. Restrictions and alternates routes have been chalked out by the Maharashtra police to ensure minimum disruption.
